Financial Inclusion of Fishmongers Gains Momentum Under FISH4ACP Programme in Côte d’Ivoire

As part of the FISH4ACP programme led by the Food and Agriculture Organization in Côte d’Ivoire, Amarante Consulting conducted a series of field activations with fishmongers across Locodjro, Sassandra, Grand-Béréby, and San Pedro.

These interventions are part of a broader approach aimed at strengthening the economic performance and financial inclusion of stakeholders within the aquaculture value chain.

Through the introduction of the Tik-Tak credit product, in partnership with Orange Bank Côte d’Ivoire, the initiative seeks to facilitate access to financing solutions tailored to the operational realities of fishmongers.

The field activities have enabled the sensitization of a significant number of beneficiaries, supported initial subscriptions, and facilitated access to digital credit for participating actors.

Beyond these immediate outcomes, the field engagements highlight a key structural insight of the programme: access to finance remains a critical catalyst for improving productivity, securing incomes, and enabling the sustainable structuring of the fisheries value chain.

Amarante Consulting continues to support this effort alongside FAO and its partners, leveraging field expertise, financial innovation, and stakeholder engagement.

The next phase will focus on expanding access to financing for producers, strengthening beneficiary monitoring, and accelerating the conversion of leads into effective financing uptake.
