Fresh off winning the CFI Global DPI Insights Grant at the UNGM, Amarante Consulting joined the Global DPI Summit 2025 in Cape Town alongside governments, central banks, digital finance leaders and global DPI architects shaping the next decade of inclusive public infrastructure.
With 28 countries already engaged and 10 on the way, the summit reinforced the fast paced momentum surrounding DPI and its role in accelerating inclusive digital economies.
Amidst all the buzz and excellent presentations showcasing use cases across various sectors (Agri, education, govt-2-person services etc ) , the week unpacked the real trade-offs behind scaling national digital systems: identity vs. privacy, openness vs. trust, speed vs. safeguards, scale vs. sustainability.
Not abstract debates, but the exact questions governments are grappling with as they build DPI that actually works for citizens.
Key themes that will fuel our upcoming work — including our new DPI Insights engagement in Ethiopia included:
- DPI’s shift from “rails and pipes” to governance-anchored public goods
- DPI as the beating heart of financial inclusion and service access
- GenAI moving from hype to regulated, accountable deployment
- Cross-country interoperability frameworks gaining real traction
- A new boldness in public-sector innovation across emerging markets
For Amarante, it was a power-packed, insightful week , sparking new ideas, exploring new collaboration, strengthening partnerships and deepening our commitment to supporting trusted DPI efforts globally.
